Found on the Ogeechee River south of Savannah, Richmond Hill is home to endless adventures. It won’t take long to see why Henry Ford fell in love with the Georgia town. The famed industrialist broke ground in 1936 in what was then known as Ways Station to build his home called Richmond Hill Plantation.
Ford started developing the town by building churches, schools, a sawmill, and more. He worked to bring Ways Station into the 20th century by improving infrastructure and roads. Due to his efforts, the town’s name was changed to Richmond Hill in his honor.
